Peugeot will bring to Frankfurt the next generation of 308. Peugeot 308 has a fresher design, a new interior and a modular platform that will be used by many models. The new Peugeot 308's modular platform is called EMP2. This brings a significant reduction in weight, improves handling and dynamics. The model borrows features from both the small 208 hatchback and the 2008 crossover. Peugeot 308 looks more robust than the previous model.
Peugeot 308 is the result of an attempt to move towards a crowd with more money, so the interior with high quality materials. The dashboard seems to recall a family car, with most orders placed at the top, that and thanks to a 9.7 inch touch-screen interface.
The Peugeot 308 model will compete in an increasingly crowded segment against models like Golf 7 or Ford Focus. The French compact follows the successful Peugeot 208, which just a year after its launch has sold over 300,000 units.
The new Peugeot 308 will be built at the Sochaux plant in France. Sales will start from January 2014.
