The new generation of SYNC offers owners large touch screens with a minimalist design and the ability to recognize conversations. The SYNC infotainment system will be available for the first time on the Mustang Mach-E electric car. The new SYNC will retain data on driver behavior and will be able to make useful suggestions later. It uses conversation recognition, internet search results and intelligent machine learning technologies.
In addition to SYNC, Ford presents a new function, Remote Vehicle Setup, which allows owners to configure their car before driving it. The system can even identify drivers via smartphone or car key and apply settings before the driver sets off.
The new generation SYNC allows customization of over 80 settings available on the Mustang Mach-E, from room temperature and seat position to ambient lighting. On the Mustang Mach-E, the new generation SYNC has a 15.5-inch Full HD touch screen. The console is easy to use, while the interface has been reorganized. Navigation through the SYNC interface has been rethought so that the information and applications that drivers need are not more than a touch distance.
The state-of-the-art SYNC system allows conversations to be recognized, allowing drivers to focus on driving and not remembering predefined commands. The system understands everyday language in 15 European languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Turkish, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish), allowing owners to speak with the vehicle as well as talk to a passenger and control everything from entertainment and navigation features to cabin settings and phone calls.
The large display allows Apple CarPlay or Android Auto applications to appear on the screen at the same time as other applications of the new SYNC, such as the navigation or radio system, allowing drivers to always be in control and have quick access to the main functions. Connectivity is further enhanced through SYNC AppLink, with apps like what3words, Waze and Webex.
In addition, the FordPass application is integrated into SYNC navigation system to facilitate travel planning, providing features designed specifically for electric vehicle owners. Ford's new SYNC system is updated with highly advanced OTA (Over The Air) updates. This ensures that the system is constantly better adapted to your use, new functionality can be added and improvements made.
