The Lexus LX 570 undergoes updates and modifications

Lexus LX 570

The Lexus LX 570 continues to deliver on difficult off-road excursions as well as elegant daily driving with a new Lexus spindle grille, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and an improved interior for the 2013 model year.

The Lexus LX 570 has a redesigned front and back fascia. The addition of new LED daytime running lights complements the redesign of the headlamps and the wider fog lamp bezels. Additionally, the taillamps have been modified, while the rear license plate surround has been redesigned and the tow hitch cover has been incorporated. Both front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, and a stainless steel accent has been added to the rear bumper protector. Side mirrors now have turn signals, and the broader bodyside moldings have been restyled.

The Lexus LX 570's large, the eight-passenger interior receives a variety of enhancements and alterations. The driver's seat now features an Easy Access system that simplifies entering and exiting the car. When the ignition is switched off, the steering wheel and driver's seat retract automatically. Additionally, the front seats have been cooled, and a 120-volt power outlet has been installed to the middle row. The instrument panel has been upgraded to include a new color display. The instrument panel is also refreshed with a dark chrome finish on the center instrument cluster and front side air vents, as well as a new chrome accent above the glove box.

The Lexus LX 570's interior also has mahogany wood trim. Parchment takes the place of Cashmere as the hue of the inside leather trim. Two new exterior colors, Medium Nebula Gray Pearl and Satin Cashmere Metallic, have been added to the lineup, replacing Twilight Gray Metallic and Golden Almond Metallic.

The 5.7-liter V8 engine in the Lexus LX 570 offers the punch and hauling capacity required in this market. The engine produces 383 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 403 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm. 90 percent of peak torque is available at just 2,200 rpm, which is critical for LX customers who tow with their vehicles.

The Lexus LX 570 is fitted with an electronically controlled six-speed automatic gearbox that anticipates road conditions and driver intentions in order to determine the optimal gear ratio for the vehicle's speed and driving circumstances. A sequential shift mode enables the driver to manually pick gears. Even at extremely low speeds, such as those seen while trail driving, the gearbox runs smoothly and quietly.

The transfer case on the Lexus LX 570 enables full-time four-wheel drive that is equally good at coping with the challenges of slick winter weather as well as thick muck or snow. The system distributes power 40:60 front-to-rear via a TORSEN® limited-slip locking center differential, delivering additional power to the wheels with the best traction in the event of slippage. Four-wheel Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) assists in preventing wheel spin by utilizing both braking and throttle intervention. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) assists the driver in maintaining directional control during cornering and may be disabled using the "TRAC off" button.

When traveling over rocky, uneven, or tough conditions, the revised Crawl Control function delivers optimal throttle and brake modulation. Additionally, the new Turn Assist function assists in tighter turning circles by increasing the braking power applied to the inner rear tire. Additionally, the new Multi-terrain Selector enables you to maximize performance by selecting from five distinct terrain types. Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) enhances off-road control by preventing the car from rolling back when your foot is moved from the brake to the gas pedal on a steep slope or slippery terrain.

The Lexus LX 570's chassis is very competent and has an innovative suspension system. The independent double-wishbone front suspension features a high-mount design that provides nine inches of total front tire travel for exceptional flexibility over rough roads and obstacles. For further strength and longevity, the four-link trailing-arm rear suspension retains the solid-axle arrangement. The body-on-frame structure ensures robustness and longevity in adverse driving situations, as well as remarkable ride isolation and a towing capacity of 7,000 pounds.

The Active Height Control system lowers the chassis by about two inches to facilitate access and departure and restores it to its regular height automatically as the vehicle accelerates. When the car is parked, the driver can easily lower it using the Easy Access option. At highway speeds, the AHC system lowers the car for increased aerodynamics. When the transfer case is in low range, AHC elevates the car to increase ride height in driving circumstances when chassis clearance is limited.

The Adaptive Variable Suspension system features three modes for adjusting the spring rate and shock absorber damping force to optimize handling and comfort when driving on the road or on the trail. The Comfort setting gives a gentler reaction on severely rough roads, while the Normal and Sport modes assist in providing increasing degrees of control when driving a highly laden vehicle, at faster speeds on paved roads, or on unpaved roads.

The standard split five-spoke 20-inch Liquid Graphite alloy wheels are fitted with 285/50R20 tires. The multi-terrain ABS technology detects road surface conditions and optimizes lock-up control automatically by selecting the appropriate ABS profile for on- and off-road driving situations. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) utilizes the ABS to appropriately distribute braking forces between the front and rear wheels, while Brake Help (BA) delivers supplemental braking force to assist the driver during emergency braking.

The Lexus LX 570 comes standard with ten airbags, including driver and front passenger knee airbags, front and second-row seat-mounted side airbags in the outboard seating positions, and roll-sensing side curtain airbags that cover the whole third row.

The Lexus LX 570 was the first car in its class to have Active Front Headrests, which move upward and forward in the case of certain low-speed rear-end crashes caused by the occupant's body.

Additionally, the Lexus LX 570 was the first vehicle in its class to offer a Pre-Collision System with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control as an option. Additionally, the LX 570 was the first Lexus to offer an optional Wide-view Front and Side Camera system, which is ideal for usage in confined spaces such as parking garages. With cameras integrated into the front grille and behind the passenger outside mirror, the driver may easily inspect difficult-to-see regions by pushing a button on the dashboard and viewing camera photos on the standard navigation system screen. The Wide-view Front and Side Camera operates up to a vehicle speed of about 7.5 mph and may concurrently display front and side images in split-screen mode.

Luxury/Comfort/Convenience

Standard luxury features include four-zone independent climate control, power seat cushion extenders in the front seats, a rear backup camera, a Lexus Navigation System, and a nine-speaker Lexus Premium Sound system with iPod/USB connectivity, HD radio with iTunes tagging, and Bluetooth® streaming music.

Lexus Enform® with Safety Connect® (complimentary one-year trial subscription included), Voice Command natural-language voice recognition, and Bluetooth phonebook download are all included in the Lexus Navigation System. The system now includes the next-generation Lexus Enform® Application Suite, which uses the mobile phone technology of consumers to deliver a new level of connectivity and information management. Local searches can be conducted via Bing, or users can use voice-enabled applications to make restaurant reservations via OpenTable, purchase movie tickets via MovieTickets.com, or listen to internet radio stations such as Pandora® or iHeartRadio.

Additionally, users will like the option to check-in on Facebook and browse for various business evaluations on Yelp, including those for eateries. SiriusXM data services include access to market data, traffic, weather, sports, and fuel prices. Enform® is compatible with iPhone, Android, and Blackberry devices. SiriusXM services are free for 90 days and need separate radio and data subscriptions.

The standard power-sliding second-row seat moves forward and backward 3.5 inches for enhanced passenger comfort and cargo storage possibilities. The second-row seatbacks split 40/20/40 for further convenience. The second-row seat has been carefully constructed to make it simple for anyone to tumble forward. Standard equipment includes a motorized retractable third-row seat. The split rear tailgate includes a motorized top door, while the lower half effortlessly rises and lowers.

The Lexus LX 570 Luxury Package adds a cold box for drinks, semi-aniline leather upholstery with contrast stitching, heated steering wheel, and mahogany wood trim on the door switch plates, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats (outboard position only), and Smart Access.

Along with the Luxury Package, the 2017 Lexus LX 570 has a rear dual-screen entertainment system with Bluetooth headphones and a three-prong electrical outlet. This technology enables simultaneous viewing of two visual sources - for example, one as a DVD player and the other as a gaming console or audio player.

For audiophiles, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound audio system with 450 watts of peak power and 15 channels is also available.
