Ford started the production of the new Fiesta ECOnetic in Germany. Ford Fiesta ECOnetic self-praise a consumption of only 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers (equal to 85.6mpg UK and 71.3 mpg US) and a CO2 rating of just 87 grams / km.
Ford Fiesta ECOnetic was launched the first time last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Fiesta ECOnetic is powered by the most efficient 1.6-liter diesel engine ever developed.
The engine has an output of 94hp (95PS) and a peak torque of 205Nm (105.2 lb-ft). To this performance also contributed the Start & Stop system, improved aerodynamics, lowered suspension, recovering the energy lost in braking and a new optimized transmission. Depending on the market Ford Fiesta ECOnetic will be available as a three and five-door hatchback.
Considering the increasing fuel prices Ford expects very large sales.
