Volkswagen presented the new Golf Cabriolet at the 2011 Geneva International Motor Show. Now, a year later at the same venue, the top version of the bestseller is making its world debut: the first GTI Cabriolet in the history of the Golf! The GTI engine crowns the open-top four-seater with 155 kW / 210 PS of power, making it the most powerful Golf Cabriolet ever. GTI does not only mean more power, but also a sportier exterior and interior and precisely tuned running gear. The first Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet models will be delivered just in time for the official arrival of summer 2012.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet quickens to 100 km/h inside 7.3 seconds in both gearbox variants. At the point when the Cabriolet is driven with the rooftop up, its top velocity is 237 km/h (DSG: 235 km/h). This appears differently in relation to a consolidated fuel utilization of only 7.6 l/100 km, proportional to CO2 outflows of 177 g/km (DSG: 7.7 l/100 km and 180 g/km CO2). A far superior contention for the GTI among convertibles is the way that the 2.0-liter sixteen-valve four chamber is the perfect motor for cruising on account of its high torque trademark. Indeed, even while driving in a high apparatus with low revs, the VW Golf GTI Cabriolet still has a lot of store torque for increasing speed.
