There it is, Volkswagen has finally decided to unveil the Golf GTI TCR, a car expected to be on a firm footing since the presentation of a concept name last May. This new product retains the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo of the classic GTI but in a configuration that can surge to 290 hp. It is exclusively offered with the DSG7 dual-clutch automatic transmission. The factory-set maximum speed is 250 km/h.
The Volkswagen GTI TCR accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, which is a bit faster than a Renault Mégane R. S. Trophy, which requires 5.7 seconds.
