Although 2020 was a gloomy year for the transport market, with a total reduction in sales of 42.4% due to increased vehicle taxes, Volkswagen can look back to a record year in many ways. According to new data BIL Sweden, a total of 31,008 new transport vehicles were registered in Sweden. Of these, 10,126 were Volkswagen vans. Caddy and Transporter are the best-selling vans in 2020.

Every third van sold in 2020 was a Volkswagen

These numbers make Volkswagen a market leader with a market share of 32.7%. The huge market share is also unique in the world - no other country in the world has the same strong preference for Volkswagen's minivans.

With a market share of 46.9% in its segment, the VW Caddy became the most popular minivan of 2020 with 5,092 registrations. The VW Transporter also came in first place in its segment with a market share of 29.8% and 2,731 registrations.
