Battery Terminals Can Also Corrode

A simple trick to cut down on battery corrosion is to use a Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, or a similar type of soda - including Pepsi and Royal Cola - to loosen oxidation and corrosion. Simply scrub with a towel or brush after pouring the acidic, caramel-colored cleaning aide on the terminals.
Not Being Used Enough
Without going into detail, sulfation is the process by which lead sulfate particles latch onto the inner workings of lead-acid batteries, the most common type of car battery.
