Citroen designers and engineers have always been known for their innovative and extraordinary ideas. And now, they have taken it to the next level with their new creation, the Citroen Oli. This electric prototype is a perfect example of Citroen's tradition of crazy courage to think very differently.
The Citroen Oli is a compact electric SUV that aims to solve the problems of modern cars being too big, too heavy, and too expensive. This electric car weighs only 1,000 kg, much less than comparable petrol hatchbacks. It has a 40 kWh battery on board and 400 km of autonomy, consuming less than 10 kWh/100 km. It is light and compact, proving you can do more with less.
Citroen Oli's design is both ingenious and simple. The hood and several other components are made of ultra-light pressed materials, and the windshield is vertical to be smaller and lighter. Even the doors and bumpers are identical on both sides, and the decorative arches of the wings are identical too. This simplicity of production should make it accessible in series production, where it could reach an optimistic future.
