Peugeot 3008: The Compact SUV That Could Conquer the Market

Peugeot 3008

The Peugeot 3008 is one of the most popular and acclaimed models in the compact SUV segment, which is crowded with strong contenders such as the Nissan Qashqai, the Seat Ateca, and the Skoda Karoq. The French automaker has been producing the 3008 since 2008, but it was the second generation that debuted in 2016 that really made an impact, winning the European Car of the Year award in 2017 and selling more than a million units worldwide. Now, Peugeot is ready to launch a new generation of the 3008, which promises to be even more stylish, practical, efficient, and technologically advanced than its predecessor. Here’s what we know so far about the 2023 Peugeot 3008.

Design

The new Peugeot 3008 will feature a bold and distinctive design inspired by recent Peugeot concepts, such as the e-Legend and the 508 PSE. The front end will sport a large frameless grille with vertical slats, LED headlights, and fang-like daytime running lights. The side profile will have a sleek and dynamic shape, with pronounced wheel arches and a sloping roofline. The rear end will have a horizontal light bar that connects the taillights and a dual exhaust system.

The new Peugeot 3008 will also offer a range of customization options, such as a Black Pack styling option that darkens all the badges, spoilers, and wheels for a more aggressive look. Customers can also choose from various two-tone color schemes that contrast the body color with the roof and mirrors.

Interior

The interior of the new Peugeot 3008 will be equally impressive, with a futuristic and minimalist dashboard that incorporates a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system. The center console will have a rotary dial for selecting the driving modes and a wireless charging pad and cup holders. The seats will be upholstered in premium leather and fabric materials, with contrast stitching and piping. The cabin will also offer plenty of space and practicality, with a generous trunk capacity and a sliding rear bench.

The new Peugeot 3008 will be stylish and comfortable but also smart and safe. It will come equipped with a host of advanced driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, and more. It will also have a semi-autonomous driving feature that will allow the driver to relax on highways and in traffic jams. Moreover, it will have a connected car service enabling remote access and control via a smartphone app.

Performance

The new Peugeot 3008 will offer various powertrain options, from conventional petrol and diesel engines to hybrid and electric versions. The petrol engine will be a 1.2-liter PureTech with 128bhp, while the diesel engine will be a 1.5-liter BlueHDi with 128bhp. Both engines will use an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

The hybrid versions will use a 1.6-liter petrol engine supported by one or two electric motors, depending on the model. The Hybrid2 version will have 225bhp and front-wheel drive, while the Hybrid4 version will have 296bhp and four-wheel drive. Both versions will have a battery pack of around 13 kWh, allowing them to travel up to 40 miles on electric power alone.

The electric version will be called the e-3008, using a dual-motor system with around 300 bhp. It will have a battery pack of around 100 kWh, giving it an impressive range of up to 435 miles on a single charge.

Verdict

The new Peugeot 3008 is set to be one of the most exciting and innovative compact SUVs on the market when it launches in 2023. It will offer a compelling combination of design, performance, efficiency, technology, and safety, making it an ideal choice for customers who want a versatile and modern vehicle. The new Peugeot 3008 could conquer the compact SUV market and set a new benchmark for its competitors.
