Orders for the new generation of the Skoda Karoq SUV have started; the SUV returns renewed four years after its debut and after over half a million units sold. The Karoq is revitalized in style and, with updates that touch the safety and connectivity sector, will be available in dealerships from spring. Under the hood, there are Tsi gasoline or Tdi turbodiesel engines with power ratings from 110 hp to 190 hp. In addition, the Sportline version is added to the current Ambition, Executive, and Style versions.
In 4 years of life, the Skoda Karoq SUV has become a fundamental model in the development strategy, becoming the second most requested model by customers after the best seller Skoda Octavia.
The Skoda Karoq is 439 cm long, and it has a large and versatile interior. For example, the three "Vario Flex" rear seats can be moved and removed individually, making this compact SUV a sort of light commercial vehicle with a luggage compartment of 1,810 liters.
Altogether, 45 different interior space configurations are available. Like almost every facelifted car, the Karoq is also characterized by a significant aesthetic change.
At the front, the new bumper, the new hexagonal grille, and brand-new optical groups with full LED technology stand out. In addition, the rear bumper was redesigned, while the wheel arches' plastic profile is evident in the side view.
We have already mentioned the engines, but let's go into detail.
The engines offered are from the 110 hp 1,000 Tsi petrol to the 150 hp 1.5-liter Tsi with selective deactivation of the Act cylinders up to the new top-of-the-range 2-liter Tsi 190 bhp. Everything revolves around the 2-liter Tdi Evo for diesel engines, offered with powers of 115 hp and 150 hp.
All engines are characterized by direct injection and supercharging, updated to improve combustion efficiency and consumption.
Depending on the engine, the 2022 Skoda Karoq SUV has a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic. For the more powerful engines, electronically controlled 4×4 all-wheel drive is available as standard or on request.
Also, in 2022, the offer of the Skoda Karoq SUV revolves around the Ambition, Executive, and Style versions. There is more extensive standard equipment in each of them than in the previous generation.
To highlight, the Skoda Karoq Executive, aimed mainly at professional users and company fleets, has complete standard equipment that improves the residual value and reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO).
2022 Skoda Karoq SUV range is completed by the dynamic Sportline variant, available for all 115 HP engines and with the top-of-the-range 2-liter Tsi 190 HP4x4 engine reserved exclusively for this specification.
To a keen eye, the Sportline variant can be recognized by the treatment of the bumpers and by the bodywork finished in glossy black, which replaces the otherwise chromed elements. Also specific are the 18-inch light-alloy wheels, with an aero design, which reduces aerodynamic drag and improves consumption.
The "Eco Friendly" package stands out among the new optional features. This option makes available for the first time the entire interior upholstery made with recycled fabrics and without the use of materials of animal origin.
The Skoda Karoq SUV has a price starting from 27,200 euros.
