Honda, one of the leading automakers in the world, has taken a significant step towards a cleaner and more energy-efficient future with the launch of the all-new 2013 Honda Fit EV electric car. Unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, this battery-electric passenger vehicle is based on the popular Fit hatchback and is part of Honda's diverse lineup of alternative fuel vehicles that includes gas-electric hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell electric, and natural gas-powered models.

With arrangements to begin renting the Fit EV to U.S. clients in the mid-year of 2012, Honda aims to offer a driving experience that is both fun and eco-friendly. The Fit EV has an impressive range of 123 city miles per charge, equivalent to a combined range of 76 miles on city and highway roads. This makes it an ideal vehicle for those who prioritize environmental sustainability without compromising on practicality.

"The Honda Fit EV is the next critical step in Honda's portfolio approach to alternative-fueled vehicles," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales, at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "There is no other automaker on the planet whose spirit is more deeply invested in the effort to realize a cleaner, more energy-efficient and ultimately more sustainable transportation future than Honda."

The Honda Fit EV has a 20-kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor that produces 92 kW (123 horsepower) of power and 188 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 90 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds, making it agile and powerful.

Moreover, the Fit EV electric car is designed with a focus on sustainability and efficiency. The vehicle's regenerative braking system captures kinetic energy and converts it into electricity, then recharges the battery. The Fit EV also has an eco-coaching system that provides real-time feedback to the driver, encouraging efficient driving practices and helping to optimize the vehicle's range.

In addition to its impressive performance and sustainability features, the Honda Fit EV is designed to provide a comfortable and convenient driving experience. The vehicle has a spacious cabin, and the rear seatbacks can be folded down to increase cargo space. The Honda Fit EV also features a range of advanced technologies, including a touchscreen display audio system with integrated navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rearview camera.

The Honda Fit EV electric car represents a significant milestone in the automotive industry's shift toward sustainable transportation. By offering an eco-friendly and practical vehicle that is fun to drive, Honda is leading the way in promoting a cleaner and more energy-efficient future for all.
