Pirelli launched the 40th edition of the Pirelli Calendar.
The Italian tire manufacturer has adopted a new concept: the photos are presenting models involved in charitable actions which take place in various traditional places from Brazil.
The calendar was created by Steve McCurry, one of the most famous photographers in the world, it aims to highlight recent social and economic transformation of Brazil.
McCurry said about Pirelli Calendar: “It is an entirely new direction for me. I thought how can I try and make this [calendar] my own, do it my way, and bring something new to it? And it seemed to me that an interesting direction would be to take some really gorgeous, beautiful women and make a series of portraits of them in Rio... probably one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world, ”
