Ford Motor Company has gone 100% from the production of gasoline engines for Ford Mondeo to the production of complete hybrid engines.
Ford Mondeo Hybrid offers a wholly new electric driving experience without the need to use an external power supply to charge the battery. Full hybrid propulsion technology is one of the solutions that helps Ford customers switch to electric with more confidence. The technology is also extremely beneficial for drivers who want greater refinement and increased fuel efficiency, but who do not have access to an external charging point at home or at work.

Ford Mondeo Hybrid technology combines a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor, a generator and a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The regenerative braking technology captures up to 90% of the energy normally lost during braking to power the battery. Electric power is used for a quiet start in daily traffic start-stop scenarios, and to support the petrol engine in providing optimum fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.
SmartGauge interface for monitoring fuel and energy consumption helps to efficiently return the braking energy to the battery.

The new Ford Mondeo Hybrid will be produced at Ford's plant in Valencia, Spain. Ford will manufacture complete hybrid variants for the Ford S-Max and Ford Galaxy starting next year.
