Fiat Ducato: The undisputed champion of large vans

Fiat Ducato

The Fiat Professional Ducato has been crowned as the Large Van of the Year 2024 by the UK fleet magazine Company Car and Van, for the fifth consecutive time. This remarkable achievement reflects Ducato’s versatility, practicality, and innovation and its popularity among customers and experts alike.

What makes the Ducato stand out?

The Fiat Ducato is not just a large van, it is a multifunctional vehicle that can adapt to any professional need. It offers a wide range of models with different lengths, heights, wheelbases, and load capacities, as well as various body types, such as panel vans, chassis cabs, dropside, tippers, and minibus. The Ducato can also be easily customized with various accessories and conversions, making it suitable for any sector and activity.

The Ducato is also a leader in terms of design and technology. It features a modern and dynamic exterior, with a distinctive front grille and full LED headlights. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with ergonomic seats, a digital cockpit, and a digital rearview mirror. The Ducato also boasts the latest safety and connectivity features, such as Level 2 autonomous driving, blind spot assist, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed assist, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How does the Ducato perform on the road?

The Fiat Ducato is a powerful and efficient vehicle, with a choice of diesel or fully electric powertrains. The diesel version offers the latest generation of MultiJet engines, with power up to 180PS and torque up to 450Nm, and an 8-speed automatic gearbox with torque converter. The diesel Ducato also has the best efficiency in its segment, with a fuel consumption of up to 37.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of as low as 197 g/km.

The electric version, called the Fiat E-Ducato, is a zero-emission vehicle that does not compromise on performance or functionality. It has a 110kWh battery that provides a range of up to 261 miles and a fast charger that can recharge it from 0 to 80% in less than an hour. The E-Ducato also has a power of 272PS and a torque of 410Nm and can carry a payload of up to 1,500 kg and a cargo volume of up to 17 m3.

Andrew Walker, the editor of Company Car and Van, commented: “For a record-breaking fifth year in a row, the Fiat Professional Ducato is our Large Van of the Year. For a start, it’s offered in more versions than any other large van and with diesel and electric powertrains. With the option of an 8-speed auto gearbox and torque converter for a large van, it’s incredibly easy to drive. The cabin offers some clever work and storage solutions for the busy van driver and also features the latest safety and tech which is fitted across the range.”
