At its launch Chevrolet Volt was one of the most publicized electric cars on the market. Shortly after its debut, a discussion arose on the drive train, but everyone agreed that the Chevrolet Volt is an electric car worthy of respect.
Bloomberg has come up with a series of official figures. As the first best-selling electric car we found the Chevrolet Volt with 30,090 units sold in 2012. In second place comes the Toyota Prius Plug-in with 27,181 units sold, while the podium is completed by the Nissan Leaf, with 25,435 units sold.
Also, Bloomberg L.P. announced that the number of electric models sold in 2012 exceeded 100,000 units.
