The Czech brand announced the arrival of the Škoda Scala G-TEC.
The Scala G-TEC is the bifuel variant with a gasoline engine adapted to CNG. The 1.0 G-TEC engine of three cylinders offers a maximum power of 90 hp.
The Scala G-TEC is available with the three finishes of the range, Active, Ambition and Style, and includes standard LED headlights and lights, brake discs on both axes and assistants such as lane maintenance or Front Assist with emergency braking in the city. In addition, Škoda points out that, despite the gas deposits, the trunk offers a volume of 339 liters.
With this model, the Czech manufacturer already has two natural gas options in its range. Thus, the Scala G-TEC joins the Škoda Octavia G-TEC launched at the end of last year.
The model incorporates three CNG tanks, for a total capacity of 13.8 kilograms of gas, which allows a range of 410 kilometers using exclusively natural gas. The total combined autonomy, thanks to the small fuel tank of 9 liters (220 km), amounts to about 630 kilometers.
The small three-cylinder engine, which complies with Euro 6d-TEMP emission regulations, is combined with a six-speed manual gearbox and offers a maximum torque of 160 Nm.
The new Skoda Scala G-TEC will go on sale in Europe in the autumn of 2019. The G-Tec probably costs a little over 20,000 euros.
