Chevrolet has published details of the new Corvette Stingray Z51. The performance version of the newest Chevrolet Corvette sports model can sprint from 0-100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and can run a quarter mile in exactly 12 seconds.
From 100 to 0 km / h, Corvette Stingray Z51 stops at 32.6 meters and managed to run a Virginia International Raceway lap in just 2 minutes and 51 seconds, which is about seven seconds better than the Camaro 1LE.
Like the standard version, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 comes fitted with a 6.2-liter V8 unit capable of producing 455 hp and 624 Nm.
Z51 Performance Package costs 2,800 dollars and includes an aerodynamic kit, an electronic limited-slip differential, a better cooling system and Magnetic Ride Control active-handling system.
Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer, said: “Considered alone, the acceleration, braking and cornering performance of the Corvette Stingray is truly impressive”.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray will have a starting price of $51,995, excluding tax.
