Nissan unveiled the revolutionary ZEOD RC – Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car - at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Nissan ZEOD RC is the world’s fastest electric racing car that can reach speeds greater than 300km/h.
The electric racing car uses lithium ion battery technology, just as the Nissan Leaf (the world's best-selling all-electric car in 2010) electric hatchback currently on the market.
Nissan ZEOD RC will compete next year in the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours under the ACO's 'Garage 56' entry - an extra spot for cars that showcase brand-new and advanced technologies.

Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President and Executive Committee member at Nissan Motor Company Limited, said: "The Nissan ZEOD RC is a natural progression that follows on from the development of the Nissan Leaf road car and the Leaf RC race car prototype. The technologies developed through the ZEOD RC program will form part of future innovations for Nissan road cars,".
