Hyundai Bayon: A Unique and Distinctive Crossover SUV with Class-Leading Features

2024 Hyundai Bayon

The B-SUV segment is one of the most competitive and fast-growing in the automotive industry. It appeals to customers who want a compact, versatile, affordable vehicle that can handle different driving scenarios. However, many B-SUVs tend to compromise on design, space, or features, leaving customers unsatisfied with their choices.

That’s why Hyundai Motor has launched the new Bayon, a stylish crossover SUV that offers class-leading practicality, a roomy interior, a robust new design, and state-of-the-art safety features. The new Bayon is designed specifically for Europe, where it stands out from the crowd with its sharp and distinctive look, its seamless horizon light signature, and its arrow-shaped rear lights.

In this article, we will explore how the new Bayon delivers on its promise of being a stylish and practical B-SUV and why it is the perfect choice for customers who value both form and function.

A Stylish and Sleek Crossover SUV

The new Hyundai Bayon is not just another B-SUV. It is a crossover SUV that combines the best of both worlds: the agility and efficiency of a hatchback and the spaciousness and robustness of an SUV. The new Bayon has a sleek and aerodynamic profile, with a low roofline and a long wheelbase. It also has a high ground clearance of 183 mm, which gives it a confident and commanding presence on the road.

The new Bayon has a unique and eye-catching design that elevates it from the crowd. It features a newly designed grille that opens at the bottom, creating a solid stance. It also has a front LED DRL (Daytime Running Lights) bar that integrates with the headlamps, creating a seamless horizon light signature. The rear of the new Bayon is equally striking, with arrow-shaped lights that underline the pillar dynamics and a redesigned bumper that enhances the rugged appearance.

The new Bayon is available in nine exterior colors, including four new ones: Lumen Grey Pearl, Meta Blue Pearl, Lucid Lime Metallic, and Vibrant Blue Pearl. Customers can also opt for a two-tone roof in Phantom Black, which adds a touch of contrast and personality to the new Bayon.

A Roomy Interior with Class-Leading Practicality

The new Hyundai Bayon may look compact on the outside, but it is surprisingly spacious on the inside. It offers class-leading practicality, with a roomy interior and a large boot space. The new Bayon has a generous headroom of 993 mm for the front passengers and 977 mm for the rear passengers. It also has a legroom of 1,072 mm for the front passengers and 882 mm for the rear passengers. The new Bayon can comfortably accommodate five adults, with ample space for their luggage.

The new Bayon has a boot capacity of 411 liters, which can be expanded to 1,205 liters by folding the rear seats. The boot also has a dual-level floor, which allows customers to adjust the height of the loading area according to their needs. The new Bayon also has several smart storage solutions, such as a glove box with a cooling function, a center console with a sliding armrest, a storage tray, and door pockets with bottle holders.

The new Bayon is not only practical but also stylish and comfortable. It has a refined and modern interior with high-quality materials and finishes. The new Bayon also offers features that make it stand out in its segment, such as a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 10.25-inch Audio Visual Navigation Screen (AVN) screen as standard. The new Bayon also has multicolor ambient lighting, which creates a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere in the cabin.

A Robust New Design with State-of-the-Art Safety Features

The new Hyundai Bayon is not only stylish and practical but also safe and reliable. It has a robust new design, with a high-strength steel body and a reinforced chassis. The new Bayon also has state-of-the-art safety features, which make it one of the safest vehicles in its segment. The new Bayon is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems that help prevent accidents and protect occupants.

Some of the Hyundai SmartSense features that are available on the new Bayon are:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which detects vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and junctions, and applies the brakes if a collision is imminent.
  • Lane Following Assist (LFA), which keeps the vehicle centered in its lane by following the road markings and the vehicle in front.
  • Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), which warns the driver of vehicles in blind spots and applies corrective steering if necessary.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), which detects vehicles approaching from the rear sides and applies the brakes if a collision is likely.
  • Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), which recognizes speed limit signs and displays them on the cluster and the navigation screen.
  • Driver Attention Warning (DAW), monitors the driver’s behavior and alerts them if they show signs of fatigue or distraction.
  • High Beam Assist (HBA), which automatically switches between high and low beams depending on the traffic and lighting conditions.

The new Bayon also has a Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA), which is a new feature that helps the driver avoid collisions when reversing out of a parking spot. The PCA uses rear sensors and a rear-view camera to detect obstacles and apply the brakes if necessary.

The new Bayon also has a Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), which is another new feature that reminds the driver to check the rear seats before exiting the vehicle. The ROA uses a sensor to detect the presence of passengers or pets in the rear seats and alerts the driver with a message on the cluster and a sound if they leave the vehicle without checking.

It is the latest addition to Hyundai’s SUV family, which includes the Hyundai Kona, the Hyundai Tucson, the Hyundai Nexo, and the Hyundai Santa Fe. The new Bayon offers customers a compelling value proposition with a stylish and sleek design, a roomy interior with class-leading practicality, a robust new design with state-of-the-art safety features, and a competitive price.

The new Hyundai Bayon is priced from $21,000 in the UK to $23,000 in Germany.

The new Bayon is the perfect choice for customers who want a compact, versatile, and affordable vehicle that can handle different driving scenarios and value both form and function. The new Bayon is a crossover SUV that combines the best of both worlds and delivers on its promise of being a stylish and practical B-SUV.
