Volkswagen has turned the Tiguan's 20-year milestone into a clear value play. The new Volkswagen Tiguan EDITION 20 starts at €48,180 in Germany, including VAT but excluding delivery and registration costs. It pairs the Life trim's comfort equipment with an R-Line exterior, anniversary-specific detailing and five powertrain choices.

Volkswagen sold more than nine million Tiguans globally between the 2007 market launch and the end of May 2026. Since 2017, the compact SUV has also ranked as the Volkswagen Group's highest-selling model.

Tiguan EDITION 20 Price Sits Below Style and R-Line

Looking at the data, Volkswagen has placed the Tiguan anniversary model between mainstream comfort and premium appearance. By comparison, EDITION 20 costs €1,650 less than Style and €4,110 less than the regular R-Line at German list prices.

Maple Red Paint Gives the Anniversary Model Its Identity

Volkswagen created Maple Red metallic for EDITION 20. The R-Line front and rear styling gains body-colour front-bumper strips, while gloss-black mirror caps, side-window trim, rear badging and load-sill protection sharpen the exterior. Dark rear glazing adds another visual layer.

The detailed changes carry the anniversary theme:

• Laser-etched lettering marks each B-pillar.
• Door projectors cast the anniversary logo onto the ground.
• Coloured 19-inch Coventry wheels come standard; 20-inch wheels remain optional.
• Red stitching runs across the dashboard, doors, seats and floor mats.

Every Tiguan EDITION 20 engine uses a dual-clutch automatic. Front-wheel drive serves the 1.5 eTSI, 150 PS TDI and eHybrid; 4MOTION comes with the 193 PS diesel and 204 PS petrol. The 193 PS TDI supplies 400 Nm from 1,750 to 3,250 rpm, ideal for trailers.

Specifically, the Tiguan eHybrid pairs a 150 PS petrol engine with an 85 kW motor and 19.7 kWh usable battery. It delivers 116-119 km of combined electric range and 140-144 km in urban testing. Charging peaks at 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC.

Cargo capacity reaches 652 litres with the rear seats raised and 1,650 litres with them folded. The floor measures 975 mm behind row two and 1,732 mm behind row one, with 1,003 mm between the wheel housings. Front and rear headroom measure 1,055 and 1,014 mm, respectively.

The 150 PS non-hybrid variants list 15.9-degree approach, 18.6-degree departure and 15.2-degree breakover angles. The 4MOTION models raise those figures to 17.0, 20.4 and 17.2 degrees. Consequently, all-wheel drive adds useful traction and slightly better clearance geometry, though this Tiguan remains road-focused.
