The New Opel Combo Electric and Zafira Electric are the Best-in-Class in Connectivity and Safety

Opel Zafira Electric

Opel has recently unveiled two new electric models that are designed to offer comfort, space, and sustainability for families and travelers. The new Opel Combo Electric and Zafira Electric are the latest additions to Opel’s electrified passenger car range, which also includes the Corsa-e, Mokka-e, Grandland X plug-in hybrid, and Zafira-e Life.

A Modern Design with a Bold Brand Face

The new Combo Electric and Opel Zafira Electric have a modern and distinctive design that reflects Opel’s identity as a brand that combines tradition and innovation. For the first time, both vehicles proudly wear the bold and pure Opel Vizor, the German brand’s characteristic brand face. With the Opel Blitz in the center, the Vizor extends seamlessly into the LED headlights. And in the fully digital cockpit, the driver and front passenger can look at intuitive infotainment systems with 10-inch color touchscreens based on the Snapdragon Cockpit platform from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

The new models also feature a redesigned front bumper with a large air intake that improves aerodynamics and reduces noise. The rear end has a sleek LED light strip that connects to the Vizor. The side profile has a sporty look with flared wheel arches and chrome accents. The rear door handles have integrated LED lights that add to the futuristic appeal.

A Flexible Interior with Plenty of Space

The new Combo Electric and Zafira Electric offer plenty of space for passengers and luggage. Depending on the seating configuration, they can accommodate up to seven or nine people, respectively. They also have versatile overhead storage options with a total capacity of up to 186 liters. Whether planning a vacation or a large purchase, these newcomers are ideal companions.

The interior of both models is spacious and comfortable, with high-quality materials and ergonomic features. The seats are upholstered in leather or fabric, depending on the variant. The dashboard has a minimalist layout with clear displays for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, battery level indicator, range indicator, clock, climate control settings, media system controls, driver assistance systems indicators, and more. The steering wheel has buttons for audio system functions and cruise control.

The new models also have three individual seats in the second row of the Combo Electric for extra flexibility when loading or carrying passengers. They also have an optional panoramic roof with electrically activated sun protection for better visibility.

A Long-Range Battery with Fast Charging

One of the main advantages of electric vehicles is their long-range battery that allows them to travel further between charging stops without compromising performance or convenience. The new Combo Electric offers up to 330 kilometers (WLTP) of locally emissions-free range on a single charge, while the Zafira Electric offers up to 350 kilometers (WLTP). Both models have an underfloor location of their 50 kWh battery that maximizes space in the passenger compartment.

The good news is that both models can be charged quickly using fast-charging stations that can replenish up to 80% of their battery capacity in less than an hour. This means drivers can enjoy longer trips without worrying about running out of power or finding an outlet.

A High Level of Safety with Advanced Technologies

Safety is another key factor when choosing an electric vehicle. Both models come equipped with top technologies and 18 assistance systems that make every journey more relaxing. These include equipment such as:

  • A high-resolution 180-degree rear-view camera
  • Full LED headlights
  • Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Light
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Blind spot detection
  • Front cross traffic alert
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Park assist
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Emergency stop signal
  • Seat belt reminder

These features help drivers avoid collisions by providing them with clear information about their surroundings, adjusting their speed according to traffic conditions or road signs, and alerting them when there is another vehicle approaching from behind or beside them when reversing or parking.

A Premium Experience with Best-in-Class Connectivity

The new Combo Electric and Zafira Electric also offer best-in-class connectivity for drivers who want to stay connected while on board. They feature wireless smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay®️ or Android Auto™️ compatibility and inductive charging for compatible devices. They also have access to various online services such as navigation apps like Google Maps™️ or Waze™️ , music streaming platforms like Spotify™️ or Deezer™️ , social media apps like Facebook™️ or Instagram™️ , weather apps like AccuWeather™️ , news apps like Reuters™️ , sports apps like ESPN™️ , etc.

The new models also have a 10-inch color touchscreen that provides a clear and intuitive user interface for the infotainment system. Voice commands, gestures, buttons, or the steering wheel can control the touchscreen. The touchscreen also supports wireless Apple CarPlay®️ and Android Auto™️ integration, which allows drivers to access their favorite apps and features without using their phones.

The new models also have a fully digital cockpit that displays all the essential information and settings for the driver. The cockpit has a 10-inch color display that shows a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, battery level indicator, range indicator, clock, climate control settings, media system controls, driver assistance systems indicators, and more. The cockpit can be personalized with different themes and colors according to the driver’s preference.

The new models also have a high-resolution 180-degree rearview camera that provides a wide-angle view of the surroundings. The camera can be adjusted to different modes, such as normal, dynamic, bird’s eye view, or night vision. The camera can also be integrated with the Intelli-Lux LED Matrix Light feature that adjusts the brightness of the headlights according to the traffic conditions or road signs.

The new Combo Electric and Zafira Electric are not only comfortable and spacious but also smart and connected. They offer a premium experience for drivers who want to enjoy the benefits of electric mobility while staying in touch with their friends and family. They are ideal for family travel, VIP services, and everyday use.
