Peugeot 2008 occupies an important place in the SUV market, both with the first generation who has just retired and with the new one which has just made its debut. Its modern and very original style, inspired by both the 3008 and the new 208 on which it is based, remains one of the major qualities of this compact SUV.
We got our hands on the new Peugeot 2008 in its GT version. It is fitted with a three-cylinder PureTech 1.2-litre petrol engine with 155 hp. This engine is combined with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The result obtained is satisfactory and consistent with that of the competitors. Our Peugeot 2008 consumed only 5.0 l / 100 km (20 km / l). In total, we only spent 27.34 euros on fuel.

As indicated, consumption of around 5.0 l / 100 km is quite commonplace in the compact SUV (petrol) segment. From this point of view, the Peugeot 2008 does not do better than its competitors, but it does not do worse either. Like the Peugeot, there is the Hyundai Kona 1.0 T-GDI and the Opel Grandland X 1.2 130 hp.
Some compact SUVs do better than our Peugeot 2008. We can cite the SEAT Arona 1.0 TSI 115 hp DSG (4.95 l / 100 km - 20.2 km / l), the Ford Puma 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid 155 hp (4.80 l / 100 km - 20.8 km / l), the Renault Captur TCe 130 EDC (4.70 l / 100 km - 21.2 km / l) as well as the undisputed champion of the category, the Volkswagen T-Cross 1.0 TSI 95 hp at 4.30 l / 100 km (23.2 km / l).
Among the qualities of the new Peugeot 2008, we can cite the futuristic appearance of the exterior and interior, including its LED lights with the three-claw light signature, its advanced technologies such as 3D digital instrumentation, its equipment and its level of finish.
In addition, driving comfort is really satisfactory, thanks in particular to the excellent EAT8 automatic transmission and the 155 hp.
