The brand-new Toyota Prius C debuts at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. The letter "c" in the Toyota Prius C name stands for "city". The new Prius C is made for younger shoppers hunting for a cleverly designed, fuel-efficient subcompact car packing innovative drive-train and in-car technology.
The Hybrid Synergy Drive works better on the smaller Toyota Prius C platform with all major components re-designed to cut down weight, scale, and boost efficiency. The Toyota Prius c's Hybrid Synergy Drive system combines a gasoline engine, an electric motor within a Continuously Variable Transaxle, a 144-volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack, a power control unit (inverter), a DC-DC converter, a step-up converter and a hybrid control computer.

The Prius c has many standard features: automatic climate control, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, climate, Bluetooth® hands-free controls, remote keyless entry. The Toyota Prius c's body structure uses lightweight, high-strength steel to trim vehicle mass and enhance fuel economy.
