Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme: A Stylish and Practical Crossover for Any Terrain

Suppose you’re looking for a versatile, affordable, eco-friendly vehicle that can handle city streets and off-road adventures. You might want to consider the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme in that case. This is a special edition of the popular crossover from the Romanian brand that offers a more rugged and outdoor style, along with some impressive features and technologies. In this article, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about this exciting model and why it might be the perfect choice for your next road trip.

What is the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme?

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme is a limited edition of the Sandero Stepway, which is a crossover based on the Sandero hatchback. The Sandero Stepway has a higher ground clearance, more robust bodywork, and some extra equipment compared to the regular Sandero. It’s designed to appeal to customers who want a practical and economical car that can also handle some rough terrain.

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme takes this concept even further by adding exclusive design elements and features that make it stand out. It has a distinctive copper color scheme that contrasts with the black roof rails, door mirrors, and wheel arches. It also has some topography-inspired graphics on the sides and the rear that evoke a sense of adventure and exploration.

The interior of the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme also reflects its outdoor spirit. It has washable upholstery made of MicroCloud TEP material that is resistant to stains and water. It also has rubber mats and door sills that protect the floor from dirt and mud. The dashboard and steering wheel has copper accents that match the exterior color.

What are the main features of the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme?

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme is not only stylish but also functional and well-equipped. It has a range of features and technologies that make driving easier, safer, and more enjoyable. Here are some of the main ones:

  • Extended Grip: This is a system that improves traction on slippery or uneven surfaces by distributing torque between the front wheels. A button on the dashboard can activate it, and it has three modes: Auto, Road, and Expert. In Auto mode, it automatically adapts to the road conditions. In Road mode, it optimizes fuel efficiency by minimizing torque distribution. Expert mode allows the driver to manually control torque distribution by using the brake pedal.
  • Shark fin aerial: This is a sleek antenna that replaces the conventional one on the roof. It improves radio reception and reduces wind noise. It also adds a touch of elegance to the car’s silhouette.
  • Media Nav Evolution: This is an infotainment system that features a 7-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB, and navigation. It also has voice recognition and steering wheel controls for easy operation. It can provide real-time traffic information, speed camera alerts, weather forecasts, and fuel prices.
  • Safety Pack: This is a package of advanced driver assistance systems that enhance safety and comfort on the road. It includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, rearview camera, parking sensors, hill start assist, emergency brake assist, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitor, and airbags.

How does the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme perform?

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme is powered by a 0.9-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 90 horsepower and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. It’s paired with a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.7 seconds and has a top speed of 168 km/h (104 mph).

The engine is also very efficient and eco-friendly. It has a combined fuel consumption of 5 liters per 100 km (47 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 114 g/km. It also meets the Euro 6d emission standards that have been mandatory in Europe since 2021.

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme also has a smooth and comfortable ride quality thanks to its suspension system that absorbs bumps and vibrations. It also has electric power steering that provides precise and responsive handling.

How much does the Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme cost?

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme is expected to have a starting price of around €15,000 ($17,000) in Europe before any incentives or subsidies. This makes it one of the most affordable crossovers on the market, especially considering its features and performance.

The Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme is not only a great value for money but also a great vehicle for adventure seekers who want to explore new places and enjoy nature. It combines the practicality and economy of a hatchback with the versatility and style of a crossover. It’s a car that can do it all without breaking the bank.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on one of these limited edition models, you might want to hurry up because they are only available until July 2023 or while stocks last.
