Ford Fiesta with EcoBoost Hybrid technology

Fiesta Fiesta

Ford's best-selling model in Europe, the Fiesta, is now available for the first time with a hybrid powertrain. Thanks to Ford EcoBoost Hybrid technology, the Ford Fiesta is even more economical, responsive and accelerates faster.

In addition to 48-volt light hybrid technology, Ford is introducing active cruise control and speed limit detection. The system reduces driver strain during long journeys by observing speed limit signs on the side and above the road and adjusting the car's speed accordingly.

Ford Fiesta's internal combustion engine transmission has also been developed, and the car is now available with the latest generation 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine and a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, ensuring optimized fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions.

The extensive Ford Fiesta range includes the chic Fiesta Trend and Fiesta Titanium, the SUV-inspired Fiesta Active crossover, the sporty Fiesta ST-Line and the luxurious Fiesta Vignale. The Fiesta is available in three and five-door models.

The 125 hp and 155 hp Fiesta EcoBoost Hybrid light hybrid models have a belt-driven integrated starter/generator (BISG) which replaces a standard charger, can recover energy normally wasted during braking and engine braking and charge an air-cooled 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack. The BISG also acts as an engine that uses the energy stored in the battery to aid in normal driving and acceleration.

The technologies now available for Fiesta for the first time offer an even more sophisticated and comfortable driving experience. The EcoBoost hybrid technology that Ford uses in the Fiesta has already been introduced in the new Ford Puma compact SUV.

FordPass Connect modem technology allows drivers to control some car functions remotely using the FordPass mobile app. Drivers receive traffic information from the navigation system, in addition to being able to remotely open and lock car doors.

Other enhancements in the Ford Fiesta:

- the Active Park Assist for the Fiesta Active and ST-Line models now includes a Perpendicular Park Assist, which allows hands-free parking

- the Cross-Traffic Alert system includes an active braking system that warns drivers of vehicles that may be in front of the car

- the new Sport and Trail driving modes have been added to Fiesta Active in addition to the existing driving modes (Normal, Eco, Slippery)

"Adding EcoBoost Hybrid technology to Fiesta’s best-in-class driving dynamics means customers can have even more power and still go further on a tank of fuel," said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe. "The Fiesta EcoBoost Hybrid will help Ford bring the benefits of electrification to more drivers than ever before."

Ford is committed to providing an electrified alternative to every passenger car model it launches in Europe and will increase its range of electrified vehicles in Europe to 18 by the end of 2021.
