Ford has now started production of a new 10-speed automatic transmission for the new Transit 2T. The new gearbox will also be available on Transit 2T rear-wheel-drive variants with Ford's new 170 hp 2-liter EcoBlue HDT diesel engine. The new gearbox is part of a major renewal that the Transit family has undergone. Transit is now an even more attractive choice for many.
Last year, Ford was the second best-selling utility vehicle brand. So far this year, sales of Ford Transit 2T have risen as much as 46%, according to registration figures from the Swedish Road Traffic Information Council.
Ford's patented Casting-Integrated Direct Action Solenoid (CIDAS) gives faster and smoother gear changes. The automatic transmission is also adjusted to the driving characteristics of the Ford Transit 2T.
The new 10-speed automatic transmission means that the 170 hp EcoBlue engine constantly works closer to its ideal efficiency level. A 10-speed automatic transmission also offers the possibility of higher torque and performance.
The new automatic transmission has also undergone more than 6 million km of test-driving under the most demanding conditions to withstand the toughest loads when put into service.
