The new generation Renault Clio won the 2020 Car of the Year title in Lithuania!
The fifth generation of the French hatchback impressed the jury members with its excellent comfort and exceptional price.
Sound insulation, control features, multimedia system, comfort while driving and passenger space, all have been listed as comparable to what can be found in more expensive cars in higher segments. Three members of the jury awarded the French model the maximum score, accumulating a total of 55 points.
This became the first victory of a Renault product in the local competition. In 2002 and 2006, the Laguna and Clio models took second place, and in 2003 the Megane model was chosen with a bronze medal.
The new Renault Clio managed to defeat the Volvo S60 (45 points), Peugeot 208 (44), Skoda Kamiq (43), Toyota Corolla (34), Mercedes-Benz GLE (17), Toyota Supra (12) .
The selection of the best car of the year in Lithuania took place for the first time in late 1997, when the Mercedes-Benz A-Class won the 1998 Car of the Year title in Lithuania. The principle of elections has remained unchanged so far.
To level the playing field on all cars to the maximum extent, winter tires from the same manufacturer are used and poured into fuel tanks from a single company.
