Perhaps it is not well known, but there is a competition in which women around the world can choose their favorite car. Specifically, women involved in motorsports and journalists from five countries expressed their options for Women's World Car of the Year 2012.
The jury consists of 20 female motoring writers from 12 participating countries (USA, Canada, The Netherlands, Argentina, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, etc).

In terms of family cars, ladies involved in the competition considered the BMW 3 Series above of the Audi Q3 and Ford Focus. This year's edition, in the sports car category, Porsche 911 was first, Jaguar XK-R second and Mercedes-Benz SLK third.
The luxury car chosen by the representatives of the competition is the Range Rover Evoque.
For green cars, the jury chose the Honda Civic, instead of Volkswagen Up! and Ford Focus.
