Škoda is taking another confident step in its electrification journey with the launch of the Elroq 85x, a compact SUV that blends style, technology, and performance with a newly added all-wheel drive option. This move not only strengthens Škoda’s EV portfolio but also shows that the brand understands what today’s drivers—whether urban commuters or weekend explorers—really want: range, comfort, and a dash of athletic flair.
A Compact SUV with Serious Power
At the heart of the Elroq 85x is a dual-motor setup that delivers 210 kW (286 hp) and sends power to all four wheels. This setup transforms the Elroq from a practical everyday EV into a lively performer, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds. Pair that with a top speed of 180 km/h, and you’ve got an electric SUV that doesn’t just look confident—it drives that way too.
Škoda has fitted the Elroq 85x with a 77 kWh battery (net), offering up to 540 km of range (WLTP). Thanks to DC fast charging of up to 175 kW, drivers can go from 10% to 80% charge in just 28 minutes—a practical solution for long-distance travel.
Design Meets Everyday Functionality
The Elroq’s design walks a fine line between elegance and athleticism. In its Sportline version, that balance tips toward boldness. Expect 20-inch Vega Black alloy wheels, black styling accents, and body-colored bumpers and skirts that give the SUV a more assertive road presence. The interior follows suit, with sport seats featuring integrated headrests, a heated steering wheel, and Travel Assist technology that blends convenience with safety.
Škoda doesn’t skimp on standard equipment either: navigation, heated front seats, online infotainment, and parking sensors are already included. It’s a thoughtful touch that positions the Elroq 85x as not just a luxury option but a practical one.
Tested and Trusted Performance
One of the strongest endorsements for the Elroq comes from ADAC, Europe’s largest automobile club. The Elroq recently earned first place in its “Lower Midsize” EV category, with a test score of 1.6, thanks to its spacious interior, lively driving feel, low energy consumption, and well-tuned chassis.
The Elroq’s bigger sibling, the Škoda Enyaq 85x, also scored top marks, showing that Škoda’s formula for electric SUVs isn’t a fluke—it’s a consistent strategy.
