Toyota Corolla Sedan completes the 12th generation of the compact Japanese model, hitherto hatchback (presented in Geneva in the spring) and break (recently introduced in Paris). If the first two versions marked the separation from the Auris brand, the sedan also marks a premiere: the HSD Hybrid Propulsion System will now be available.
The Toyota Corolla Sedan is built on its brothers' modular platform. It's Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-C).
The new Toyota Corolla Sedan has an external length of 4.64 meters, an insignificant increase over the previous model (+2 cm). Instead, it is much shorter, nearly 5 cm. The wheelbase has remained unchanged at 2.70 meters, which should provide enough space for the rear passengers.

The Japanese also promise more pleasure for the driver, not just for passengers. The new global platform allows a lower center of gravity and torsional stiffness of 60% higher. The rear multilink rear suspension is available as standard, regardless of the engine, and is complemented by a redesigned front suspension for improved driving pleasure and enjoyment.

The Toyota Safety Sense Assistance Package is also upgraded with pre-pollination system with pedestrian and bicycle detection, an all-speed adaptive cruise control, or an active track-side assistant. This is for the first time complemented by a Lane Trace Assist system that allows you to keep the car centered on the highway.
Two engines will be available on the European market, both powered by gasoline. At the base, we have the 1.6-liter / 132-hp four-cylinder unit, which can be ordered with both a manual gearbox and a CVT. The second engine is hybrid, with a 1.8-liter thermal engine developing a total power of 122 hp.
