How BMW M Performance Parts Enhance the New 5 Series and BMW i5 Models

How BMW M Performance Parts Enhance the New 5 Series and BMW i5 Models

BMW has recently unveiled the new 5 Series Sedan and the BMW i5, two models that combine luxury, performance, and efficiency in a sleek and elegant package. But for those who want to take their driving experience to the next level, BMW also offers a range of M Performance Parts that enhance these vehicles' aesthetics, dynamics, and exclusivity.

BMW M develops M Performance Parts, the high-performance division of the German automaker, with decades of motorsport expertise and know-how. These parts are designed to fit perfectly with each model's specific characteristics and provide an unmistakable statement of sportiness and individuality.

We will explore some of the highlights of the M Performance Parts for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan and the BMW i5 and how they can transform these models into even more thrilling and distinctive machines.

Aerodynamics: More Than Just a Pretty Face

One of the most noticeable features of the M Performance Parts are the aerodynamic components, which not only enhance the appearance of the vehicles but also improve their stability and handling at high speeds.

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan and the BMW i5 can be equipped with a range of carbon fiber parts that add a touch of racing flair to their exteriors. These include a front splitter, air intake trim elements, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and mirror caps. These parts are made from high-quality carbon fiber that is lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion. The aerodynamic components also reduce the lift forces on the front and rear axles, improving the vehicles' driving dynamics and agility. The reduced drag also helps to lower the fuel consumption and emissions of the vehicles.

Wheels: A Matter of Style and Substance

Another way to customize the look and feel of the new 5 Series Sedan and the BMW i5 is to choose from various M Performance wheels available in different sizes, designs, and colors. These wheels are eye-catching and functional, as they reduce the unsprung mass and optimize brake cooling.

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan can be fitted with 20-inch or 21-inch M Performance wheels in forged or cast versions. The forged wheels are particularly lightweight and robust and feature a striking star-spoke design in Jet Black or Bicolor Night Gold. The cast wheels have a double-spoke design in Ferric Grey or Bicolor Jet Black.

The i5 can also be equipped with 20-inch or 21-inch M Performance wheels in forged or cast versions. The forged wheels have a Y-spoke design in Frozen Gold or Bicolor Jet Black. The cast wheels have a V-spoke design in Ferric Grey or Bicolor Jet Black.

The M Performance wheels are complemented by high-performance tires that offer optimal grip and traction in all weather conditions. The tires also feature a special tread pattern that reduces the rolling noise and enhances the comfort of the ride.

Brakes: Stopping Power Meets Visual Appeal

To match the impressive performance of the new 5 Series Sedan and the i5, BMW also offers M Performance brakes that provide superior stopping power and fade resistance. These brakes also add a visual accent to the vehicles, as they feature red or blue brake calipers with an M logo.

The M Performance brakes for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan consist of four-piston fixed calipers at the front and single-piston floating calipers at the rear, with perforated and grooved brake discs that measure 374 mm in diameter at the front and 345 mm at the rear. These brakes significantly improve over the standard brakes in terms of braking performance, thermal stability, and response.

The M Performance brakes for the i5 consist of six-piston fixed calipers at the front and single-piston floating calipers at the rear, with perforated brake discs that measure 395 mm in diameter at the front and 378 mm at the rear. These brakes are specially adapted to the electric powertrain of the BMW i5, as they integrate an electric brake booster that ensures a consistent braking feel regardless of battery charge level or regenerative braking mode.

Interior: A Cockpit for Enthusiasts

The interior of the new 5 Series Sedan and the BMW i5 can also be upgraded with M Performance Parts that enhance the comfort, functionality, and sportiness of the cabin. These parts include carbon fiber trim elements, Alcantara upholstery, stainless steel pedals, floor mats, door sills, key cases, steering wheels, shift paddles, and more.

One of the interior M Performance Parts highlights is the M Performance steering wheel Pro, which is available for both models. This steering wheel features a distinctive design with a flat bottom, an Alcantara cover with silver-grey cross-stitching, carbon fiber shift paddles (for models with automatic transmission), and an integrated race display that shows various driving data such as speed, gear, engine rpm, and lap times.

The M Performance steering wheel Pro also features a vibration function that provides haptic feedback to the driver, such as when the optimal shift point is reached or when the vehicle is approaching the speed limit. The steering wheel can also be customized with different colored center marking strips and hand grips.

The new 5 Series Sedan and the i5 are already impressive vehicles that offer a blend of luxury, performance, and efficiency. But with the M Performance Parts, you can take them to the next level and make them truly your own.

BMW M develops the M Performance Parts with the highest quality, design, and functionality standards. They enhance the vehicles' aesthetics, dynamics, and exclusivity and provide an unmistakable statement of sportiness and individuality.

The M Performance Parts are the ultimate way to personalize your BMW and make it stand out. Whether you want to improve your vehicle's aerodynamics, wheels, brakes, or interior, you can find the perfect parts for your needs and preferences. With the M Performance Parts, you can enjoy a more thrilling and distinctive driving experience that reflects your passion for BMW.
