2024 Nissan Juke: More Tech, More Style, More Yellow

Brand

  • Nissan

The Nissan Juke is one of the most distinctive and popular small SUVs on the market. Since its debut in 2010, it has sold over 1.5 million units worldwide, thanks to its quirky design, fun driving dynamics, and affordable price. But the competition in this segment is fierce, and the Nissan Juke needs to keep up with the latest trends and technologies. That’s why Nissan has given it a major update for 2024, adding a bigger infotainment screen, an improved interior, a new sporty-looking N-Sport trim, and a bright yellow color option. Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 Nissan Juke.

Bigger and Better Infotainment System

The new infotainment system is one of the most noticeable changes in the 2024 Nissan Juke. The previous 8.0-inch touchscreen has been replaced by a larger and higher-quality 12.3-inch display, which is angled more toward the driver for better visibility and usability. The new screen also features movable widgets, which allow users to customize the home screen and access frequently used functions more quickly. The system also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as wireless phone charging. Additionally, the screen can play videos from a USB device when the car is parked, making it a great entertainment option for passengers.

The infotainment system is not the only thing that has been upgraded in the 2024 Juke. The voice recognition system has also been improved, thanks to a new capability to understand natural language. This means the system can recognize more commands and cope with hesitant speech, making it easier for drivers to interact with the car using voice control. For example, drivers can say things like “I’m cold” or “I need gas” and the system will adjust the climate control or show the nearest gas stations.

Improved Interior Quality and Comfort

The 2024 Nissan Juke also benefits from improved interior quality and comfort. The seats have been upgraded with new fabrics, quilted effect inserts on Tekna trim, and a redesigned armrest with clips for three credit cards. The glove compartment is also bigger, offering more storage space. The interior also features more yellow accents, especially on the N-Sport trim, which adds yellow stitching, piping, and inserts to the seats, dashboard, and door panels.

The 2024 Juke also offers more convenience and safety features, such as a configurable 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, which can switch between two main layouts: a simple two-dial setup or a 3D-effect view with space to display a sat-nav map and other information. The display settings can be controlled from the steering wheel, which also features new buttons for the adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist systems. The Juke also comes with a range of driver assistance systems, such as blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent emergency braking.

New N-Sport Trim and Yellow Color Option

The 2024 Nissan Juke also introduces a new trim level, called N-Sport, which is designed to give the car a sporty look. The N-Sport trim features a black roof, pillars, wheels, door mirrors, wheel-arch inserts, and a grille, creating a contrast with the body color. The N-Sport trim also comes with LED fog lights, privacy glass, and a shark fin antenna.

Speaking of body colors, the 2024 Juke also brings back the yellow option, which was discontinued in 2017. The yellow color, called Sunlight Yellow, is available on all trim levels except Visia and can be combined with a black roof for a two-tone effect. The yellow color also matches the yellow accents on the N-Sport trim, creating a striking appearance.

Same Engine, Same Price

The 2024 Nissan Juke does not change much under the hood, as it continues to offer the same 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 115 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and can achieve up to 42 mpg on the combined cycle. The Juke also offers three driving modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport, which adjust the throttle response, steering weight, and transmission settings.

The 2024 Nissan Juke also does not change much in terms of price, as it starts from $23,400 for the base Visia trim and goes up to $34,800 for the top Tekna+ trim. The new 2024 Nissan Juke N-Sport trim is priced at $30,900, while the yellow color option adds $600 to the price. The 2024 Juke is expected to go on sale in the UK in March and in other markets later in the year.

How Does It Compare to the Competition?

The 2024 Nissan Juke faces a lot of competition in the small SUV segment, as there are many alternatives that offer similar or better features, performance, and value. Here are some of the main rivals of the Juke and how they compare to it:

ModelPriceEnginePowerTorqueMPGInfotainmentInteriorStyling
Ford Puma$23,900 - $33,5001.0L turbo 3-cyl / 1.5L turbo 3-cyl125 hp / 200 hp155 lb-ft / 236 lb-ft44 / 378.0-inch / 12.3-inchSpacious, practical, sportySleek, muscular, modern

As you can see, the 2024 Nissan Juke has some strong points, such as its unique styling, its improved infotainment system, and its yellow color option. However, it also has some weaknesses, such as its limited engine choice, its poor ride comfort, and its fiddly infotainment controls. Depending on your preferences and needs, you may find a better option among the Juke’s competitors, or you may still be drawn to the Juke’s quirky charm. Either way, the 2024 Nissan Juke is a worthy contender in the small SUV segment and one that deserves your attention.
