Renault improves the Renault 4 E-Tech electric with longer range, easier charging preparation and a new entry-level Jogging trim. Orders for the updated range open on October 2026, depending on country and version; Renault 4 Jogging follows before year-end.
Longer Range Without Larger Batteries
Renault changes the underbody fairings and door mirrors to reduce aerodynamic drag. Consequently, the existing 40 kWh and 52 kWh batteries carry drivers further without a capacity increase. The comfort-range model now reaches 415 km WLTP, against the original model's maximum of 409 km: roughly a 1.5% gain.
| Version | Battery | Motor | Maximum WLTP range | Official consumption |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Urban range | 40 kWh | 90 kW/120 hp | 310 km | 14.7 kWh/100 km |
| Comfort range | 52 kWh | 110 kW/150 hp | 415 km | 14.4 kWh/100 km |
| Plein Sud canvas roof | 52 kWh | 110 kW/150 hp | 400 km | 14.9 kWh/100 km |
| Jogging | 37 kWh | 80 kW/110 hp | 305 km | Renault has yet to publish |
Jogging Adds LFP and 25-Minute Charging
The Renault 4 Jogging uses a lithium iron phosphate battery with 36.5 kWh usable capacity. Its cell-to-pack construction integrates cells directly into the pack, reducing intermediate packaging and improving space utilisation.
Acceleration reaches 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds. Specifically, its 80 kW DC connection supports a claimed 10-80% charge in 25 minutes; the 6.6 kW onboard AC charger takes 3 hours 30 minutes over the same interval. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch instrument display and a 10.1-inch multimedia screen.
Technology That Cuts Charging Friction
Manual battery pre-conditioning lets drivers prepare the battery through the central display without programming a charging stop into navigation.
In addition, Renault introduces:
- A sharper reversing camera across the range.
- Optional 360-degree camera coverage on Techno and Iconic.
- My Renault notifications five minutes before charging finishes.
- Smart mode switching between Eco, Comfort and Sport.
The Roland-Garros edition adds recycled upholstery, 18-inch diamond-cut wheels and the 52 kWh drivetrain, with an optional Plein Sud roof.
Renault 4 Versus Fiat Grande Panda Electric
By comparison, Fiat's Grande Panda offers a shorter body for tight parking spaces. Renault's comfort-range version counters with 95 km more rated range and greater motor output.
| Specification | Renault 4 comfort range | Fiat Grande Panda Electric |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 52 kWh | 44 kWh |
| Motor output | 110 kW | 83 kW |
| Maximum WLTP range | 415 km | 320 km |
| Length | Approximately 4,140 mm | 3,999 mm |
| Wheelbase | Approximately 2,620 mm | 2,540 mm |
Pro-Tips: Which Version Should You Choose?
Choose the 52 kWh version for frequent intercity driving; consider Renault 4 Jogging trim for local use with home charging. Compare final quotations before committing: Renault advertises French Evolution prices of €22,920 for 40 kWh and €26,420 for 52 kWh, each after a €7,070 incentive. Eligibility and national pricing change the buying equation.
