The Skoda Roadiaq is the result of a collaboration between Skoda and the Secondary School of Mechanical Engineering in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. Every year, Skoda sponsors a student project that challenges young talents to design and build their own car based on an existing Skoda model. This year, the students chose the Skoda Enyaq iV as their base and created a stunning concept that showcases their creativity, skills, and vision.
The Skoda Roadiaq is more than just a modified Skoda Enyaq. It is a completely new vehicle that has been rebuilt from scratch. The students cut off the rear part of the Skoda Enyaq and extended the wheelbase by 30 cm. They also added a new roof, doors, windows, bumpers, lights, and interior. The result is a spacious and comfortable camper van that can accommodate up to four people.
The most impressive feature of the Skoda Roadiaq is its electric powertrain. The students replaced the original engine with an electric motor that delivers 140 kW (190 hp) and 290 Nm of torque. The motor is powered by an 86 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge. The battery can be recharged in about an hour using a fast-charging station.
The Skoda Roadiaq also boasts a number of smart features that make it ideal for camping and traveling. It has a solar panel on the roof that can generate additional electricity for the battery and the onboard appliances. It has a retractable awning that creates a shaded area outside the vehicle.
