Skoda Drive

Brand

  • Skoda

If you want a new car that combines style, practicality, and value, you might want to check out the Skoda Drive special models. These are limited-edition versions of the popular Skoda Fabia, Skoda Kamiq, and Skoda Scala models, which offer more equipment and features at a lower price than the regular versions.

What is Skoda Drive?

Skoda Drive is a marketing campaign that Skoda launched in Germany. The campaign aims to attract new customers and boost sales of the Skoda Fabia, Skoda Kamiq, and Skoda Scala models, which are some of the best-selling and most-awarded cars in Skoda’s lineup.

The Skoda Drive special models are based on the Ambition trim level, which is the mid-range option for the Fabia, Kamiq, and Scala. However, the Drive models come with additional features that are normally optional or exclusive to the higher trim levels. These include:

  • LED headlights and taillights
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Sunset tinted windows
  • Black roof rails (for the Kamiq and Scala)
  • Drive badges on the front fenders
  • Climatronic automatic air conditioning
  • Multifunction leather steering wheel
  • SmartLink+ (for smartphone integration)
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Front assist (for collision prevention)
  • Lane assist (for lane keeping)

How much do the Skoda Drive special models cost?

The Skoda Drive special models are priced competitively compared to the regular Ambition models. The price difference varies depending on the model, engine, and transmission, but it ranges from €1,000 to €2,500 (or $1,180 to $2,950).

Here are the starting prices for the Skoda Drive unique models in Germany:

  • Skoda Fabia Drive: €22,640 ($26,710) for the 1.0 MPI 80 PS (59 kW) manual version
  • Skoda Kamiq Drive: €28,360 ($33,500) for the 1.0 TSI 95 PS (70 kW) manual version
  • Skoda Scala Drive: €27,180 ($32,100) for the 1.0 TSI 95 PS (70 kW) manual version

These prices represent a significant saving compared to the regular Ambition models, which start from €23,490 ($27,710), €30,490 ($36,000), and €29,490 ($34,800) respectively.

How do the Skoda Drive special models compare to the competition?

The Skoda Drive special models are not only cheaper than the regular Ambition models but also cheaper than some of their main rivals in the subcompact and compact segments. For example, here are the starting prices for some of the comparable models in Germany:

  • Skoda Fabia Drive vs. Volkswagen Polo: The Volkswagen Polo is the closest cousin of the Fabia, as they share the same platform and engines. However, the Polo is more expensive than the Fabia Drive, starting from €23,440 ($27,660) for the 1.0 MPI 80 PS (59 kW) manual version. The Polo also has less equipment than the Fabia Drive, lacking features such as LED headlights, SmartLink+, and front assist.
  • Skoda Kamiq Drive vs. Hyundai Kona: The Hyundai Kona is one of the most popular and stylish models in the subcompact SUV segment. However, the Kona is more expensive than the Kamiq Drive, starting from €29,990 ($35,420) for the 1.0 T-GDI 120 PS (88 kW) manual version. The Kona also has less equipment than the Kamiq Drive, lacking features such as LED taillights, Climatronic, and lane assist.
  • Skoda Scala Drive vs. Ford Focus: The Ford Focus is one of the best-selling and best-driving models in the compact hatchback segment. However, the Focus is more expensive than the Scala Drive, starting from €28,990 ($34,220) for the 1.0 EcoBoost 100 PS (74 kW) manual version. The Focus also has less equipment than the Scala Drive, lacking features such as LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and rear parking sensors.
