The new Mercedes AMG GT will go into production and will have a hybrid propulsion system that will develop a total output of 816 hp. The Germans have confirmed that the Mercedes-AMG GT will have a biturbocharged 4.0-liter V8 combined with an electric motor.
Earlier last year, Mercedes unveiled the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept , the first German model to receive the "EQ Power" logo. EQ will name the 100% electric range of the German manufacturer.
After the Geneva presentation, Mercedes confirmed that the model was given green light for entry into production, although the exact date has not yet been established.

"If you run in electric mode, then maybe it’s okay to have your freedom and it’s quiet. We’re not fully done with it, though," said Moers. "We do a lot of research together with companies, musicians, gaming people to find what could be the right sound for an electric-driven AMG. We’re not done with that journey; we’re just collecting a lot of input."
