Mercedes-Benz C-Class extends the current range with a new hybrid version, presented at the Detroit Auto Show. It's C350 Plug-in Hybrid. Last year Mercedes started a true hybrid offensive with the new S500 Plug-in Hybrid of the current Class S unit.
The configuration of the new C350 Plug-in Hybrid features a 2.0-liter gasoline engine joined an electrical engine. If the conventional gasoline engine delivers 208 hp at 5500 rpm and a torque of 350 Nm, the electric engine unit also contributes with 80 horsepower and 340 Nm. These hp are all managed with the help of an automatic transmission 7G-tronic seven-speed.
Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-in Hybrid runs from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds and it has a top speed of 250 km / h.
Mercedes C350 Plug-in has a lithium-ion battery able to keep the electric motor alive for 31 kilometers. The battery weighs 100 pounds and was placed in the trunk, which slightly reduces the luggage space.
