The new Mercedes-Benz C 300, a plug-in hybrid with a diesel engine, is now on sale for the first time after a long wait. The plug-in hybrid car can be ordered as a sedan or a station wagon, and both can have 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Prices start at $59,666.
Mercedes-Benz is the only company that sells plug-in hybrids with diesel engines, a solution that's become very popular.
Now, Mercedes-Benz is finally starting to sell the C 300, part of the latest generation of the C-Class. The Mercedes-Benz C 300 has a diesel engine with 145 kW (197 hp) that works with an electric motor with 129 hp (95 kW). It gives the whole system 313 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
The Mercedes-Benz C 300 uses between 1.8 and 2.2 kWh per mile when running on electricity alone. A 25.4 kWh battery can go about 10 miles on electricity alone (94 – 108 km).
The battery can be charged with up to 11 kW AC power or 55 kW DC power (optional). A full charge (100% to 100%) takes about 2 hours with AC and about 20 minutes with DC (10% to 80%).
The Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid luxury car can be ordered with either rear-wheel drive or 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The Mercedes-Benz C 300 can also be ordered as a sedan or a station wagon.
The Mercedes-Benz C 300 de with rear-wheel drive costs $59,666, while the Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC with four-wheel drive costs $61,570. The combos cost an extra $1,427.
The Mercedes-Benz C 300 plug-in hybrid car will arrive at the start of 2023.
