Last month, Opel unveiled the Opel Astra GSe and Astra Sports Tourer GSe. The new sub-brand GSe represents Opel's electrified and energetic top models, which have been made more sporty aesthetically, in terms of equipment and driving characteristics, than the rest of the Grandland model line. The Opel Grandland GSe, which will spearhead Opel's SUV effort, will be the next GSe model.

The new Opel Grandland GSe is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and two electric motors, one on each axle, for a total system output of 300 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid powertrain features permanent four-wheel drive (e-AWD), ensuring that the Opel Grandland GSe always has excellent road grip and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The top speed is 225 km/h on pure electricity and 135 km/h on gasoline.

The chassis and steering of the Opel Grandland GSe, like the Opel Astra GSe, have been re-calibrated to give the car more aggressive driving characteristics. It has front McPherson suspension and multi-link rear suspension, a tighter chassis, and shock absorbers with KONI FSD (Frequent Selective Damping), which ensures various shock absorption characteristics depending on driving style. Consequently, the Opel Grandland SUV responds rapidly and reliably to the driver's input while retaining stability when braking, turning, and driving on the highway.

In terms of design, the Opel Grandland GSe differs from the rest of the Grandland model line by including GSe style. It boasts 19" lightweight alloy wheels inspired by the Opel Manta GSe concept vehicle, a redesigned diffuser at the rear, the GSe badge on the tailgate, and the black radiator cap is available as an option. Inside, the Opel Grandland GSe has AGR ergonomic seats. The seats are highly adjustable and give excellent support and comfort when cornering and traveling long distances.
