The Peugeot Hoggar is proof of the company's international goals and evidence that Peugeot is promoting its new product launch strategy. The Peugeot Hoggar pickup truck is designed to satisfy the requirements of the Brazilian market, consolidating Peugeot's position as a national car manufacturer.
The compact pickup truck, which completes the Brazilian 207 family range. With the extension of its product range in Brazil, Peugeot's full-year sales target for the Peugeot Hoggar is 10% of the compact pickup truck market, a business that continues to grow.
It took 320 technicians and engineers, and three years' effort to bring this project to success. Due to its utility nature, Peugeot Hoggar had to comply with even stricter specs than those imposed on private cars, in order to be approved. In all, 573 major tests were carried out, corresponding to thousands of different tests. Overall, the Peugeot Hoggar will have covered over a million kilometres before going on sale.
Peugeot Hoggar puts its traditional knowledge of utility vehicles to good use and, by mixing the ideas, offers a model suited to the requirements of the Brazilian customers, in a new market segment. The developers were keen to produce a very rigid structure and a more strong suspension system, designed to achieve optimum performance, whatever the vehicle's load, while allowing a level of comfort and driving pleasure worthy of a saloon.
Peugeot Hoggar has sufficient interior space and the largest load space in its segment, with a volume of 1,151 litres, able to take a live load of 742 kg.
The Peugeot Hoggar will be launched in Brazil on 15th May 2010, in three equipment levels and two Flex Fuel engine options: 1.4 and 1.6.
