Grand Sport Electric (GSe) models feature sporty styling that expands on Opel's award-winning clean design and driver-centric chassis configurations that benefit from the added power of an electrified drivetrain without sacrificing the zero-emissions-in-use advantages of electric vehicles.
The new Opel Astra GSe and Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe have a system power output of 225hp and a maximum torque of 360Nm, allowing them to compete with the best in their classes in terms of acceleration, top speed, and getting up to speed quickly.
Opel's new Astra GSe models use a dedicated chassis 10mm lower than before and provide improved stability during cornering, braking, and higher speed. The Opel GSe's one-of-a-kind suspension setup and steering calibration provide more agile and precise handling.
The innovative springs and oil-filled dampers of the front and rear suspension in the new Opel Astra GSe and Sports Tourer GSe are particularly tuned for sporty driving and comfort. KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) is implemented in the dampers, allowing for distinct damping behaviors at high frequencies (suspension control) and low frequencies (body control). Additionally, Opel GSe models have unique ESP settings, with a greater activation threshold to match the models' dynamic driving personality.
The eighth-generation Opel Astra is a striking and unadulterated design statement for the company, and the GSe model's distinctive design elements make it look even more functional. The unique 18-inch light-alloy wheels, inspired by the celebrated, all-electric Opel Manta GSe concept, the tailored front bumper and fascia, and the GSe logo on the trunk lid all convey a strong impression of the GSe's kinetic personality. Performance front seats upholstered in Alcantara that have been certified by AGR to deliver the highest levels of comfort and support services as a focal point for the interior's sporting aspirations.
